Honeywell humidifiers are a very well known name in the humidifiers industry. These products are manufactured by the Honeywell Company, which has a very long and interesting history behind it.

Started in 1927, the company was then known by the name of Minneapolis Honeywell Regulator Company. It was a union of two different companies, Minneapolis Heat Regulator Company and Honeywell Heating Specialty Co; both of which were big names in their individual capacity.

The Minneapolis Honeywell Regulator Company grew from strength to strength and invented many new products and appliances for various industries. One such quality home comfort product was the Honeywell Humidifier. Finally, in 1963, the company once again changed its name to Honeywell Inc, which is how it was anyways being referred to since decades.

Honeywell has classified its humidifiers in a unique manner; the two broad classifications being Do-It-Yourself Honeywell Humidifiers and Professionally Installed Honeywell Humidifiers.

1. Do-It-Yourself Honeywell humidifiers: This category includes humidifiers that are easy enough to be installed on your own, provided you have some basic electronic skills. These Honeywell humidifiers are whole house humidifiers, which can humidify your entire home by working with the other ventilation systems in the house. These are of two types:

2. Professionally Installed Honeywell humidifiers: Such humidifiers are best installed by a professional who knows the air systems of the house and also the workings of the humidifier. These Honeywell air humidifiers use two main technologies - flow through systems, and steam humidifiers.
